TGIF!
In Germany, people have a special word to refer to the end of the work day: Feierabend. Different people do different things: some go home to relax, some meet up with friends for a drink. What’s your ideal Feierabend?
Let’s talk about y’all’s stuff!
In German, you say eure to describe things belonging to more than one person.
Max und Julia, eure Eltern sind nett.
Max and Julia, your parents are nice.
Just one T, please!
In German, verbs like arbeit‑ and end‑ put in an extra e before the endings for du, er, and ihr forms. Why? It’s because there’s a t or a d right before where the ending would go, and pronouncing something like arbeitst would be quite a mouthful!
Max, arbeitest du morgen?
Max, are you working tomorrow?
Meine Mutter arbeitet jeden Tag.
My mother works every day.
Der Film endet um acht.
The movie ends at eight.
