Birthday 2

Reinfeiern
There’s a special word in German for starting a party the day before the actual event: reinfeiern. But remember, it’s bad luck to wish someone happy birthday early. So even if you start partying early, you won’t hear Alles Gute zum Geburtstag until midnight!
Stop! In the name of new verbs
In English, some verbs, like pick up or bring along, consist of two parts. German has these verbs too!
Ich hole meine Mutter ab.
I am picking my mom up.
Wer bringt den Kuchen mit?
Who is bringing the cake along?
However, when these verbs are in the infinitive, the two parts stay together as one word!
Mein Bruder will Luftballons mitbringen.
My brother wants to bring along balloons.
Say bitte, bitte!
You have seen bitte at the end of sentences. Well, it’s time to change things up! When you ask someone a question, you can say bitte after du, just like in English!
Kannst du bitte deine Schwester abholen?
Can you please pick up your sister?
