Days of the week
In Spanish, the days of the week are not capitalized.
Hoy es lunes.
Today is Monday.
To say on Monday or on Saturday, use el before the day of the week.
La fiesta es el viernes.
The party is on Friday.
Spanish sounds
At the beginning of sentences, the letters b and v are both pronounced like an English b.

As in bean (beginning of sentence).
But in the middle of words or sentences, they often sound like a hybrid between b and v.

As in van but with the two lips touching

In Spanish, double l (ll) sounds similar to y in the English word “yes”, though you may hear some Spanish speakers pronounce ll as in “vision”, “shop”, or “jar.”

As in yes.
¡La fiesta es muy divertida!
You've seen that when talking about people, the ending of an adjective depends on the person's gender. For example, Pedro es mexicano, but María es mexicana.
This applies not only to people, but to any noun!
El partido de fútbol es muy divertido.
The soccer game is very fun.
¡La fiesta es muy divertida!
