Commands 2
Let’s talk about Commands!
To give commands to people you address as tú, use these irregular forms:
poner | pon |
tener | ten |
venir | ven |
decir | di |
hacer | haz |
salir | sal |
In more formal situations when you would address someone as usted, it's like the yo form in the present tense, but ending in ‑a instead of ‑o!
Yo digo la verdad. Señor, ¡diga la verdad!
Yo no hago nada. Señor, haga algo, por favor.
Add an ‑n to the usted forms if you’re talking to more than one person.
Niños, ¡pongan los libros en sus mochilas!
Words like te, me, lo and so on go at the end of the command. If you have two of these, lo, la, los, or las always comes second.
