¿Qué tiempo hace?

To talk about the weather in English, we usually say It's hot or It's windy. In Spanish, you don't need words like it!

Nieva mucho en enero.

It snows a lot in January.

Llueve mucho hoy.

It's raining a lot today.

A lot of weather phrases begin with hace.

Hace frío.

It's cold.

Hace calor.

It's hot.

Hace sol.

It's sunny.

Hace viento.

It's windy.

Hace buen tiempo.

It's good weather.

Hace mal tiempo.

It's bad weather.

Months

Months aren't capitalized in Spanish!

Tengo vacaciones en enero.

I have vacation in January.

Tengo vacaciones en febrero.

I have vacation in February.

Tengo vacaciones en marzo.

I have vacation in March.

Tengo vacaciones en abril.

I have vacation in April.

Tengo vacaciones en mayo.

I have vacation in May.

Tengo vacaciones en junio.

I have vacation in June.

Tengo vacaciones en julio.

I have vacation in July.

Tengo vacaciones en agosto.
