Let's meet up!
Retrouver means to meet up with someone! But how about if you're saying people are all meeting up with each other? Then you add a pronoun like se.
Je retrouve mes amis devant le théâtre.
I meet up with my friends in front of the theater.
On se retrouve à sept heures du soir.
We meet up (with each other) at 7 PM.
You can also talk about seeing or meeting each other using pronouns like se!
Ils se sont rencontrés à l'école.
They met (each other) at school.
Nous nous voyons cet après‑midi à la réunion.
We'll see each other this afternoon at the meeting.
I receive my friends?
The verb recevoir means to receive something, but also to have someone over.
Nous recevons des cadeaux.
We receive gifts.
Il reçoit souvent des amis.
He often has friends over.
Take a look at the forms of recevoir! Notice that even though some forms use ç and some use c, they are both pronounced like an s!
