A teacher, the teacher
Japanese does not have words like a or the. For example, the word せんせい [sensei] can mean both teacher and a teacher.
She's a teacher
You’ve seen that です [desu] means it's. The same word can also mean she's or he's!
せんせいです。
[sensei desu]
She's a teacher. / He's a teacher.
