To say you like cats more than dogs, you’d say よりのほうが好きです. より goes after the thing you like less, and のほうが goes after the thing you like more!
ズボンよりドレスのほうが好きです。
I like dresses more than pants.
You can do the same thing with adjectives too! Which is bigger, better, faster, stronger?
この帽子よりその帽子のほうがかわいいです。
That hat is cuter than this hat.
