Meal deals
In Brazil and Portugal, o almoço is a very important meal. Most people eat it around noon and usually like to do it in the company of coworkers, friends or family.

In English, lemon is a yellow fruit, and a lime is green.
In Portugal these fruits have similar names and color: the limão is yellow and the lima is green.

But in Brazil it is the opposite! The limão is usually green, so don't be surprised if someone offers you a green limonada.
Talk through your nose
You might have noticed little wavy marks on some letters in Portuguese, like in ã.
This mark over a letter means you need to speak it through your nose.
