Whatcha doing?
To talk about what someone is doing right now, like She is writing, use a form of estar with a verb ending in ‑ndo.
Ela está escrevendo.
She is writing.
Only the verb estar changes to match the person you're talking about. The second verb always stays the same!

‑endo, ‑indo, ‑ando
To make the ‑ndo form, drop the final ‑r of the infinitive and add ‑ndo.
cozinhar → Eu estou cozinhando.
comer → Eu estou comendo.
ir → Eu estou indo.
comer → Eu estou comendo.
ir → Eu estou indo.
