Tudo ou todos?
Use tudo to say everything.
Tudo é muito diferente.
Everything is very different.
You can also combine tudo with words like isso, isto, etc.!
Eu quero tudo isso.
I want all that.
Use todos to say everyone. And if you're only talking about women, say todas.
Há comida suficiente para todos?
Is there enough food for everyone?
Estão todas aqui.
They are all here.
Ninguém fez nada!
You can use nada to say nothing, and nenhum to say none.
Nada vai acontecer.
Nothing will happen.
Nenhum dos carros é meu.
None of the cars is mine.
Keep in mind that double negatives are common in Portuguese! For example, you should use ninguém together with não.
Eu não vi ninguém.
I did not see anybody.
Alguém fez algo!
Use algo to say something and alguém to talk about someone.
Eu tenho algo a fazer.
I have something to do.
Alguém me disse.
Someone told me.
Another useful word is algum, which means one, some, or any. It changes depending on the gender and number of the word you are talking about!
Algum de vocês sabe o nome dele.
One of you knows his name.
Alguns de vocês sabem o nome dele.
Some of you know his name.
Você conhece alguma das garotas?
Do you know any of the girls?
