Did you notice that the plural form of most words ending in ‑ão is ‑ões?
A relação entre mãe e filha é muito importante.
The relationship between mother and daughter is very important.
As relações entre os dois países não são boas.
The relations between the two countries are not good.
A reunião terminou às nove.
The meeting ended at nine.
Elas odeiam reuniões.
They hate meetings.
Como podemos mudar essa situação?
How can we change that situation?
Eu não gosto dessas situações.
I do not like those situations.
Estar à espera de…
Use the expression estar à espera de to talk about what someone is waiting for.
O homem está à espera da carta.
The man is waiting for the letter.
Estou à espera da resposta.
I'm waiting for the answer.
And remember that you can always use the verb esperar to say that you are waiting for something!
Eu estou esperando o trem.
I am waiting for the train.
