Daily Routine 1

From here to there!
In English, we might say I am traveling from the U.S. to China or I’ll be on vacation from May to June. To say the same thing in Chinese, use (cóng, from) and (dào, to).
美国中国
(cóng Měiguó dào Zhōngguó) from the U.S. to China
五月六月
(cóng Wǔyuè dào Liùyuè) from May to June
九点五点
(cóng jiú diǎn dào wú diǎn) from 9 o’clock to 5 o’clock
上 (shàng) and 下 (xià)
You already know that (shàng) can mean last (as in 星期) and that (xià) can mean next (as in 个周末).

We can also use
for go to, and for get off (as in to get off work).
我们上午九点班。
(Wǒmen shàngwǔ jiǔ diǎn shàngbān.) We go to work at 9 in the morning.
你明天几点班?
(Nǐ míngtiān jǐ diǎn xiàbān?) What time do you get off work tomorrow?
我的妹妹十一点学。
(Wǒ de mèimei shíyī diǎn shàngxué.) My younger sister goes to school at 11 o'clock.
