The dog is on the table!
Remember that 猫在你的前面 (māo zài nǐ de qiánmiàn) means The cat is in front of you. Let’s look at some other ways of talking about where a person or object is located...
To say The dog is on the table, you’d say 狗 (gǒu, dog) + 在 (zài, be located) + 桌子 (zhuōzi, table) + 上 (shàng, on).
上 (shàng), on
下 (xià), under
里 (lǐ), inside
外 (wài), outside
狗在桌子下。
(Gǒu zài zhuōzi xià.) The dog is under the table.
狗在冰箱里。
(Gǒu zài bīngxiāng lǐ.) The dog is inside the fridge.
Have you seen my phone?
To ask Have you seen... (when looking for something or someone) use the pattern 你看见 + the thing or person you’re looking for + 了吗?
你看见我的手机了吗?
(Nǐ kànjiàn wǒ de shǒujī le ma?) Have you seen my cell phone?
你看见他的孩子了吗?
(Nǐ kànjiàn tā de háizi le ma?) Have you seen his kid?
