Transportation

Taking the subway
(zuò) means to sit, but you can also use it to describe the type of transportation you’re using. For example, 地铁 (wǒ zuò dìtiě, I take the subway), literally means I sit on the subway.

下 (xià, get off) + transportation
We’ve seen already that (xià) can mean next (星期) or under (狗在桌子). can also be used to say that we’re getting off of a bus, train, etc. In fact, 下车 is used so commonly together that it generally refers to getting off of any vehicle.
