There is/are
To say that there is / are something at a certain location, you can add 有 (yǒu, has/have) after the location. To say something is not there, use 没有 (méiyǒu, does/do not have).
树上有六只鸟。
(Shù shàng yǒu liù zhī niǎo.) There are six birds in the tree.
车里有一只狗。
(Chē lǐ yǒu yì zhī gǒu.) There is a dog in the car.
办公室里没有人。
(Bàngōngshì lǐ méiyǒu rén.) There are no people in the office.
