I don't understand!
懂 (dǒng, understand) means to understand. For example, if you say 看懂 , that means that you understand what you read or see. Don’t understand? Add 不 (bù, not)!
我懂。
(Wǒ dǒng.) I understand.
我不懂。
(Wǒ bù dǒng.) I don’t understand.
我看不懂。
(Wǒ kàn bù dǒng.) I don’t understand (what I’m reading). Literal: I read (and I) don't understand.
上 (shàng, to attend) vs 下 (xià, to end)
You’ve seen already that 上 and 下 can have many meanings, as in 我们要上火车 or 外面下雨了. You can also use them to mean attend and end when talking about classes.
你明天会上课吗？
(Nǐ míngtiān huì shàngkè ma?) Will you attend class tomorrow?
什么时候下课？
(Shénme shíhòu xiàkè?) What time does class end?
